L-Methionine is a non-essential amino acid that belongs to the group of essential amino acids. It is a major constituent of proteins and is used in the metabolism of lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. Methionine is also involved in the synthesis of cysteine, which is an important antioxidant. L-Methionine can be found in many foods such as eggs, dairy products, fish, poultry, soybean products, peanuts, beans and seeds.
