This drug can be used as an analytical reagent for the detection of water vapor in gas chromatography and other techniques. The acute toxicities associated with 3,5-diisopropylsalicylic acid are not well understood, but it has been shown to have a negative effect on body mass index. It also may affect pluripotent cells and radiation therapy. There are reports of drug interactions when used with certain medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
