Position at Capsant

1) Application specialist (electrophysiologist): Applications are invited for a senior scientific position to assist in the development of new multi-electrode applications for the recording of functional activity from excitable tissues. The successful candidate should hold a PhD in life sciences and have extensive experience of electrophysiological techniques in brain slices and/or isolated cardiac tissues. In addition experience in tissue culture using primary tissues and stem cells would be advantageous. We are seeking highly motivated individuals able to perform in a commercial research setting, with the ability to manage and execute projects to specified milestones and time lines. The candidate will be required to work as part of a multitalented team and to supervise junior staff.

2) Technical scientist:  Applications are invited for a scientist to assist in the development of tissue based in-vitro drug screening systems. The successful candidate should hold a degree in life sciences or equivalent and ideally should have experience in tissue culture, immunohistochemistry and/or molecular biology. A strong degree of motivation, ability to work independently and as part of a successful team are essential. Previous experience of a commercial research environment would also be beneficial.
